The MC truck licence allows you to drive trucks carrying more than one trailer. If you will be driving any of the following vehicles, you must hold an MC licence:

B-Doubles

Road Trains

Prime movers, low loader dolly and low loader trailer combinations

Some people opt to obtain their HC licence first, before later upgrading to the MC licence. The MC licence training course is slightly more rigorous and requires confidence, focus and clear demonstration of ability from all students.

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN MC LICENCE

You must meet the following requirements in order to apply for your MC licence:

You must have held a Class HR or HC licence or equivalent for a minimum of one year. Time spent on P2 HR licence counts, but you cannot practice driving an MC vehicle or upgrade to an MC licence until you hold a full-class or LC licence.

You must pass an RMS MC knowledge test

You must pass an RMS eyesight test

Successfully completed HVCBA and on-road MC licence practical with Highway Truck Driving School. If you hold an HR licence, you’ll need to pass an HC assessment before you can start MC training.

Pass a medical examination or supply a medical certificate if you have a medical condition on your licence

The HVCBA stands for Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment, and it is a key requirement in order to obtain a heavy vehicle licence in NSW. Highway Truck Driving School is an RMS accredited training organisation, and you can complete this assessment within our driving school.




OUR MULTI COMBINATION TRUCK LICENCE TRAINING COURSE

The MC combination truck licence course at Highway Truck Driving School is an intensive, safety-focused course that aims to improve students’ skills and confidence behind the wheel of MC vehicles. We provide you with the fundamental knowledge needed to successfully obtain your MC licence, as well as key strategies to help you stay safe on the roads.

Our course is run on a one-to-one basis, with one of our friendly instructors guiding you along the way. You can choose to carry out your training in either a Non-Synchromesh or Semi-Automatic gearbox vehicle. Throughout the course, you will learn all about Australian road rules, and how to successfully steer, start, manoeuvre, stop and load your vehicle. We will also show you how to drive defensively and avoid potential hazards and risks.


Our course is specifically tailored to the Indian community with ambitions to begin an exciting new career in Australia as a heavy vehicle operator. Every member of our staff speaks Hindi Punjabi, Sri Lankan and English and is dedicated to ensuring your safety and success. We operate our training courses out of Prestons, NSW. We are located nearby to surrounding suburbs including Horningsea Park, Lurnea, Glenfield, Macquarie Links, Casula, Hoxton Park and many more.


Upon completion of training, you can then book your assessment session. Once you have passed the assessment, you will be issued a certificate of competency that will allow you to obtain your MC licence from the RMS.

FASTENING

Fastening is a key component of the MC course at Highway Truck Driving School. MC vehicle operators are required to transport goods on long-haul interstate routes, and they play a key role within the logistics industry. We will teach you how to safely load and secure your vehicle to reduce the risk of accident and injury, and we will also show you how to couple and uncouple trailers safely. This knowledge will ensure that your goods arrive on time, and it will also protect the health and safety of both yourself and other road users.
